TONY'S PROJECTS

THE PERFUME FACTORY
Client: Essential Living
Architect: Darling Associates Architects
Contractor: Not yet determined
Location: North Acton, England
As project lead Tony introduced innovation through the use of, lean post-tensioned concrete slabs instead of thick RC slabs, short blade columns instead of long intrusive walls, and, ‘coupling of floors' to avoid using drop-caps. These innovations in design will lead to construction savings without impeding the architectural expression.

CEBU SEASIDE ARENA
Client: SM Holdings
Architect: Arquitectonica
Contractor: Not yet determined
Location: Cebu, The Philippines
As project engineer, Tony’s design of the Arena ensured that it would be seamless to integrate other services into it. He facilitated this by utilising parametric modelling (Rhino with, Grasshopper, Karamba and Galapagos plug-ins) combined with inter-operable engineering tools. This purposeful integration led to design savings, as the project was progressing from Concept to Detailed Design rapidly.

PAUL AND HENRI CARNAL HALL
Client: Institut Le Rosey
Architect: Bernard Tschumi Architects
Contractor: ADV Constructions
Location: Rolle, Switzerland
As the key structural engineer, Tony lead the design team ensuring the structural design did not impede on the other critical design aspects. This meant providing column-free spaces with long span structures were imperative for uninterrupted views to the stage. He achieved this harmoniously by using parametric modelling to find the most optimum and efficient roof structure possible. His innovation allowed the Facade, Acoustic and Lighting Architects to truly express their creativity and make their mark.

TRADE AND INDUSTRY TOWER
Client: Arch. Services Dept. (HK Gov't)
Architect: Wong Tung Group
Contractor: Dragages HK
Location: Kai Tak, Hong Kong (SAR)
As project engineer, and having previously worked on similar projects, Tony had the foresight to see potential coordination issues, like façade embedments clashing with Post-Tension anchor heads. Tony immediately contacted the contractor, and ensured that there was an open dialogue to integrate & coordinate the façade design with his structural design. This integration avoided costly redesign exercises and prevented inevitable delays to construction.
Call or e-mail Tony if you would like to meet to discuss how innovation and integration can be used to reduce the cost, and optimise the design process of your project.
