RONALD'S PROJECTS

CENTRAL-WAN CHAI BYPASS
Client: Highways Dept. (HK Gov't)
Architect: Aedas
Contractor: Leighton Asia
Location: Central, Hong Kong SAR
Ronald led the analysis and design of the 113m long steel roof between the West and Middle Ventilation Buildings. Ronald ensured the design integrated the heavy landscape loads and adverse typhoon wind conditions, as well as, the complex erection sequence. Ronald was able to not only deliver this, but also reduce building material through the use of Structural Optimisation methods. This allowed Ronald to deliver the artistic and elegant structure that the client envisaged.

WEST BAY VILLAS
Client: Al Jaidah and Co.
Architect: AEB Qatar
Contractor: AEB Qatar
Location: Doha, Qatar
As the project’s Structural Engineer, Ronald was engaged from inception to construction. As all the villas were different, Ronald was always thinking of new ways for engineering to be the vehicle of luxurious architecture. He describes the structure as evolving through innovative thinking of the design rules, and altering basic forms in an unconventional way to ensure each building performed their function, whilst complementing the intended architecture.

FUENTE TOWER 3
Client: J. King & Sons Company
Architect: T. I. Vasquez Architects
Contractor: MLD Dream Builders
Location: Cebu, The Philippines
Engaged as the Project Structural Engineer, Ronald was tasked with the design review of this 27-storey residential tower in Cebu. Ronald made sure that the tower satisfied the high seismic activity notorious in that region and the sweeping path of many strong typhoons. Ronald was also the liaison between the designer and contractor, ensuring construction drawings met the requirements of the contractor and conducted site inspections to safeguard the quality of the construction.

SM MEGAMALL TOWER
Client: SM Holdings
Architect: Arquitectonica
Contractor: Not yet confirmed
Location: Manila, The Philippines
This 220m tall, 50-storey, S-shaped office tower, found in Ortigas, is a design feat in itself. But, the 6-storey podium car park beneath, the connecting basement linking the Tower to the existing SM Mega Mall and its highly seismic and typhoon prone location, raise the project's level of complexity. Ronald’s thorough knowledge of the region, his ability to seamlessly liaise between consultants & contractors, ensured the project’s buildability and progression were unhindered.
Call or e-mail Ronald if you would like to meet to discuss how his design innovation and construction integration can benefit your new or existing project.
